·Enabling both rear fog lights

Controller 09 - Central Electronics
16 - Security Access - enter 31347
10 - Adaptations
Change the 2 channels listed below - scroll to just over halfway down the long list of adaptation channels to find them. Do them one after the other, and do not come out of the adaptations until you have finished. If you do, you will have to close the controller and go back in and enter the security access code again.

You have a couple of options here - the original values are
(4)-Leuchte26NSL LA72-Lichtfunktion A 26 - Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaenger gesteckt und Rechtsverkehr
(4)-Leuchte27NSL RC6-Lichtfunktion A 27 - Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaenger gesteckt und Linksverkehr
which translate roughly as rear fog lights when trailer not connected and right hand traffic and rear fog lights when trailer not connected and left hand traffic

So, for use on the continent you could just swap the values over and the left fog light would light up.

A third option is available - Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaenger gesteckt - rear fog light when trailer not connected. I set both of mine to this value and they both come on, but if you set them both to Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaenger gesteckt und Linksverkehr they both come on as well.

This has been tested on LED Hatch & Combi rear clusters, and standard Combi.

Change (4)-Leuchte26NSL LA72-Lichtfunktion A 26 to Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaenger gesteckt

Change (4)-Leuchte27NSL RC6-Lichtfunktion A 27 to Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaenger gesteckt

Edit: Following feedback, check the behaviour of the rear fogs after making the coding change. If you change the side of the road in Infotainment you could end up with no rear fog lights if they are both set to Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaenger gesteckt und Linksverkehr in the UK and you go to the continent.

The safest setting seems to be setting both to Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaenger gesteckt

UPDATE FOR MY2015 CARS

Having met up with vrsalan as the above didn't work on his MY2015 vRS, it seems VAG have tried to get clever and altered the adaptations on the new 5Q0 937 086 AA BCM.

You also need to set the brightness for the near side fog light, as VAG have left this channel completely disabled on this BCM. You will notice that (4)-Leuchte26NSL LA72-Lichtfunktion A 26 isn't set to any function before you change it.
So, change (6)-Leuchte26NSL LA72-Dimmwert AB 26 from 0 to 100 and the near side fog will work. For left hand drive cars this will be change (6)-Leuchte27NSL RC6-Dimmwert AB 27 from 0 to 100.

Remember, the mirror switch needs to have the passenger mirror selected for this to work, and the mirror only dips a fixed amount if you don't have memory seats.

Permanently Disable Start-Stop

Available with VCP (Vag Can Pro) as an OCF (One Click Function)

Tested by antera on 2014.5MY cars and works with VCDS as below

· Go to Module 19 (Can Gateway)
· Adaption
· Go to Kanaal: Start_stop_voltage_limit
· change to 12.1V ( standaard is 7.6V)

The Start-Stop will show as disabled because the energy requirement from the car is too high, which is not an error but a valid reason for SS to be disabled.

he following two methods can be used to permanently disable Start/Stop (SS) on a Golf mk7:
(1) Temperature Method, or
(2) Voltage Method (as an alternative to the Temperature Method)
Before proceeding with this tweak, consideration should be given to any legal and environemtal factors that may result when disabling this facility.

(1) Temperature Method
These instructions were sourced from the Golfmk7.com site. Grateful acknowledgement to the author "Allenlin" who has said that the VCDS tweak was developed on a 103TDI. Allenlin has produced a short video which shows that SS has been disabled (see the link below) I have implemented this tweak on my mkVII, and I can vouch that it works.

Video: Start/Stop disabled-Golf mkVII
Allenlin instructions:

1. Enter 19-CAN Gateway

2.Click on Adaptation-10

3. From drop-down channel list select (1)-Start/Stopp Auntemperaturvorgabe-Minimaltemperatur (it's almost at end of channel list)
· In New value box, enter 50 (default stored value = -50.0)
· Click Do it! tab
· Click Add to Log to save a copy of the change

4.From drop-down channel list select (2)-Start/Stopp Auntemperaturvorgabe-Maximaltemperatur (it's almost at end of channel list)
· In New value box, enter 50 (default stored value = -50.0)
· Click Do it! tab
· Click Add to Log to save a copy of the change

(2) Voltage Method (alternative)

The voltage method is not available to all mk7 models (my own my13 vehicle will not allow access to the Adaptation channel below). However, I have confirmed (by viewing the Adaptation Control Map for Address hex19) that this method is available for the my14 model.

Instructions

1. Enter 19-CAN Gateway (see screen shot above)

2. Click on Adaptation (see screen shot above)

3. From drop down channel list, select Start/Stop start voltage limit (it's about 60% down the channel list)

· In New value box, enter 12 (default stored value = 7.6V) Note: forums report that a value greater than 10V will work for this tweak - maximum permissible value =12.1V
· Click Do it! tab
· Click Add to Log to save a copy of the change

EDIT: If you have a Mk7 Golf R then you could have Acc/Start Auth. Control module fitted to your car (address 05, HW:5Q0-959-435)
This controller has only one adaptation channel whose sole function is disabling Stop/Start. The adaptation channel descriptor is Deactivation of start-stop function and default setting is not active. Change this to active

here is a requirement to code the RLFS (Rain Light Humidity Sensor) to 06885D - but I am unable to change the coding on the RLFS with VCDS. This has been logged with Ross-Tech support for assistance. It can be changed with VCP though.

I had to go into the Car Setup menu on the Infotainment unit and turn Convenience Opening off, then set it back to All Windows to get this to start working. You may also have to disable and enable Automatic Rain Closing as well.

To test, make sure the wiper stalk is in the Auto position. Turn the ignition on and off, then get out of the car and close the door. Hold down the unlock button on the remote until the windows drop an inch or two. Now lock the car. Leave it a couple of minutes then 'drum' lightly with a couple of fingers on the rain sensor and the windows will close

Enabling rainclosing - perform this at your own risk
There have been reports of this causing problems with the Leaving Home function

I can now confirm this works!! - UPDATE - VCDS BETA 14.6.0 CAN NOW CODE THE RLFS

Controller 09 - Central Electronics
16 - Security Access - enter 31347
10 - Adaptations
Change the 3 channels listed below

Change (14) Access control 2-Regenschließen ein aus to Active

Change (15) Access control 2-Regenschließen art to Permanent

Change (27) Access control 2-Menuesteuerung Regenschließen to Active

Please note the change in channel numbers with the later versions of VCDS

You will now have a menu in Infotainment

here is a requirement to code the RLFS (Rain Light Humidity Sensor) to 06885D - but I am unable to change the coding on the RLFS with VCDS.
